Fee Structure

There are many ways to price any given project; therefore, we are likely to combine and employ several methods depending on the type of project, always striving to provide the best value for the services to the client.

1. HOURLY FEE: project scope is loosely defined, open ended, or will fluctuate.
2. FLAT FEE: project scope is absolutely specific, clearly defined, and finite.
3. COST PLUS: procurement of project products and furnishings at wholesale to the designer and marked up by a specific percentage for sale to the end user. Wholesale pricing varies on a per vendor basis. Some vendors offer as little as 10% off regular retail, others offer as much as 50%.
4. PER SQUARE FOOT FEE: scope is specific, clearly defined, and finite (commercial projects only).
5. PERCENTAGE OF CONSTRUCTION COST: Used only in commercial projects.
6. COMBINATION FEES: projects may be well defined for certain portions of the scope and not well for others. For this we choose a combination of the above.

BASIC HOURLY FEES
The hourly fees include travel time between our place of business and the project site and/or requisite vendors.

• $150 / hr for Senior Designer (Heidi H Howard); $90 / hr for Junior Designers; $50 / hr assistant. As required.
• CADD services: pricing varies based upon project scope.

REMIBURSABLES
The expenses incurred by the Interior Designer and Interior Designer’s employees and consultants in the interest of the Project, including but not limited to:

• reproductions, plots, CAD translations, standard form documents, postage, handling and delivery of Instruments of Service;
• renderings, models, materials and mock-ups requested by the Owner;
• expense of professional liability insurance dedicated exclusively to this Project or the expense of additional insurance coverage or limits requested by the Owner in excess of that normally carried by the Interior Designer and Interior Designer’s consultants
• other similar direct Project-related expenditures

These are a brief review of the most common elements. The contract will specifically delineate all fees and payment terms.
